I guess you never heard this kind of recipe. I just experimented it last night on how to cook Pentil beans in different ways. And yes, I got very successful experimentation and my family loved it!
This recipe of mine I called it "Sauteed Pentil Beans" because I didn't use water to cook. I just used this ingredients to wit:
- 1 1/2 cup cook Pentil beans
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 medium red onion, chopped
- 1 pc Jalapeno, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Pinch of salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Monterrey Jack cheese
- 2 tablespoon sour cream
Preparation:
- Cook the Pentil beans a head of time because it takes 2 hours or more to cook. Just follow the instruction on the package when cooking those beans. When its cooked, drain the water and put in the refrigerator.
- Heat the medium cast iron or pot and put the oil to saute the spices like onion, garlic and Jalapeno for 6 minutes.
- Add the Cooked Pentil beans, soy sauce, salt and pepper then mix well. Reduce the heat at slow, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Don't forget to stir sometimes.
- Put the cilantro and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir sometimes.
- For the last part, Add the cheese and sour cream. Off the heat and continue your stirring until the cheese and sour cream mix well. Cover and serve not later than 20 minutes. If you eat later, heat first your stove like 5 minutes before serving.
This recipe can be use at any occasions like birthday party, fiesta, Thanksgiving, Christmas or in a restaurant.
